Live Well Morris County partners have been hard at work teaching elementary school students the importance of bike safety. These lessons go beyond riding—they help children develop habits that will keep them safe for life.

At a young age, kids are eager to explore and gain independence, but they often don’t fully understand the risks of cycling. By introducing bike safety early—such as wearing helmets, following traffic rules, and staying alert—we empower children to make smart choices and prevent accidents.

Bike safety education not only protects kids on the road but also builds confidence, responsibility, and respect for others in their community. These skills create a foundation for safe, healthy, and active lifestyles.

Check out our slideshow featuring our community partners at Council Grove Elementary and White City Elementary during our recent Bike Safety events in the spring and fall of 2025. Thanks to grant money received by the Morris County Health Department we were able to give each student a new bike helmet and bike safety lights.

Together, we’re making a difference—one ride at a time!
