The Child Healthcare Organization is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization that is funded by private grants, local churches, clubs, organizations, and personal donations. It was developed to provide needed financial assistance to children with medical, dental, visual, or mental health needs. CHO meets on the 3rd Wednesday of every month while school is in session. CHO serves children in Morris County, USD 417, and White City Schools.

The Council Grove After Prom Party is an event organized by parents that provides a fun atmosphere for our Juniors and Seniors (and their dates). It allows them to celebrate after the Prom in a safe and enjoyable environment that is drug and alcohol-free. While this is an ambitious project, we know the importance of this endeavor due to the statistics relating to teen alcohol use and related deaths.

Together With Veterans AND Morris County is a community-based suicide prevention program that utilizes the whole community concept, and the partnerships created, to disseminate best practices in public health suicide prevention to rural communities, such as ours, consistent with the goals of the National Strategy for preventing suicide. We also provide training on suicide awareness, the stigma of mental health, and resiliency. While we do not offer services for mental health, we are adept at finding them for citizens in need.

The USD 417 Health Office is dedicated to supporting the well-being and safety of every student. We provide care for illness or injury during the school day, administer medications as needed, write health plans and train staff on medical needs when appropriate, and promote healthy habits through education and prevention. Our school nurses and aides work closely with families, staff, and healthcare providers to ensure each student can learn and thrive in a safe, healthy environment.
